Line-Baker gets a lift in China

Article Abstract:

Linde-Baker, an industrial truck maker based in Germany, has started making forklifts at Linde Xiamen Forklift Truck Plant, a joint venture between Summerville, SC-based Linde-Baker Material Handling Corp. and Xiamen Forklift Truck Corp, in Xiamen, China. The joint venture partners have already made a total of $155 million in investments in the new facility, which is expected to hit its maximum production capacity within seven years. When the Xiamen plant hits its full capacity, 2,500 people will be hired to produce an estimated 15,000 industrial trucks per year. Those machines will be marketed in China and across the Southeast Asian region.
