Litran muovipullot pois v hitt iskaupasta

Article Abstract:

Finnish soft drink industry is planning to abolish plastic bottles of one liter. Also 0.3 liter glass soft drink bottles are likely to vanish from stores in future. Plastic bottles of 0.5 and 1.5 liters would remain on the markets. Beer and cider bottles and cans are estimated to remain as they are. According to Finnish Hartwall , the development cannot be changed. The question is mainly on choosing the right time for the change. The Finnish Association for breweries and the soft drink industry is expected to make the decision in autumn 1998. Finnish consumer and food product officials as well as the Ministry of the Environment approve of the change. The renewal rate of the one liter plastic bottles has not been great and the life cycle of the bottles is now coming to an end.

Nokia vet pois juutalaisia loukanneen mainoksen Saksassa

Article Abstract:

Finland's Nokia will withdraw the advertisement which has offended Jews in Germany and the USA. The ad had pictures of different mobile phones with the text "Jedem das Seine", i.e. in English "For everyone his own". The text was written on the gate of Buchenwald concentration camp during WW2. The American Jewish organization, AJC, states that the ad shows poor capability of understanding history and that it mocks the concentration camp victims. Nokia Mobile Phones say the ad was an unfortunate accident for both Nokia's and the advertising company's part. The ads were removed as soon as first complaints were received. Nokia deeply regrets the offense.

Vakuutusyhti t haluavat pit Nokia-osakkeeensa

Article Abstract:

Finnish insurance companies want to keep their present voting power in Finland's Nokia. At the end of June 1998, foreign owners held 49% of Nokia's voting power, and already nearly 80% of the shares. Unlike insurance companies, UPM-Kymmene is ready to still sell their Nokia shares as UPM-Kymmene's field of business does not include owning other companies. At the end of June 1998, UPM-Kymmene was still the third largest Finnish holder of Nokia's voting power.
