Mark Mobius' bald head is centerpiece of ad campaign by Templeton in colony

Article Abstract:

Templeton Emerging Markets Fund Inc. (Templeton) has launched a new Hong Kong marketing campaign capitalizing on company director Mark Mobius' bald head. The campaign began with a three-page newspaper ad showing what appeared to be a crescent moon but was in fact Mobius' head. The campaign coincides with the company's newly-authorized open-ended Global Strategy funds. Competitors have criticized what they view as the company's excessive focus on Mobius but Templeton executives believes personality marketing is especially suited for Hong Kong investors.
