Maytag may be on verge of ending dividend

Maytag Corp. may decide to end its quarterly dividend payment. First-quarter earnings have dropped 80% and share prices have decline 52% so far this year. The company has been slow to move manufacturing offshore, where labor costs are much cheaper.

Staples posts loss, scales back plans for new outlets

Staples Inc. posted a loss of $111.7 million (119.7 million euros) in its fiscal 2000 fourth-quarter. The loss will force the company to reduce plans for new outlets.

RadioShack warns earnings for year may miss the mark
