Microsoft conduct is challenged again

Article Abstract:

In a suit being brought by Burst.com Inc. against Microsoft Corp. in Baltimore, Maryland, the smaller software company is alleging that its larger competitor used a digital media technology developed at Burst.com in its Windows program. Burst is suing Microsoft for patent-theft relating to what it says were Microsoft's efforts to patent the digital media software for itself. In addition, Burst is alleging that Microsoft has destroyed e-mails that would stand as evidence of the theft.

Microsoft loses effort to limit trial

Article Abstract:

Microsoft Corp.'s attempts to restrict the scope of evidence in its antitrust trial has been turned down by a US federal judge. The judge granted the US government's request for documentation on Microsoft's secret discussions with Apple Computer Inc., Intel Corp., and other firms. In August 1998, the Justice Department and 20 states charged the software giant with unlawfully pressuring those firms in order to protect its monopoly of operating systems software.
