Morgan Grenfell Development Capital

Article Abstract:

Morgan Grenfell Development Capital (MGDC) is seeking to expand its pan-European strategy by building up funding which covers the whole of Europe. MGDC aims to be able to deal with all European countries and has offices in Sweden and Germany, with headquarters in the UK. Smaller deals are as important as the large transactions, according to MGDC head of private equity Norman Murray. Working in partnership with entrepreneurs is important to MGDC, such as the 33 million pound sterling purchase of New Zealand-based Donside Paper Company by Inveresk.

The battle commences for high-quality staff

Article Abstract:

Demand for top corporate finance employees is much greater than supply in the UK at present. It has become very common for corporate finance departments to poach senior merger and acquisition staff from their rivals, and there is now strong competition to attract the best recruits. Many institutions now use specialised recruitment consultancies, and some are even looking to source employees from outside the UK as their business becomes more international.
