POLYNESIA: GLOBECAST SUPPLIES HIGH SPEED INTERNET

Article Abstract:

In addition to 12 TV channels and three radio stations, GlobeCast is providing a high throughput Internet access to the population of 190,000 split into 130 islands and islets in French Polynesia. The Internet access offer includes three services. Mcast Mail allows to receive e-mails even in non connected mode, while Mcast Direct handles the high throughput access itself. Mcast Thematic, the third service, supplies pre-selected theme channels in 'push' mode. GlobeCast, active in satellite based multimedia and audiovisual services, belongs to France Telecom .

LEBANON: WANADOO PRESENTS INTERNET PORTAL, PLUGGED

Article Abstract:

In partnership with France Telecom Mobile Liban (FTML), Wanadoo has presented wanadoo.com.lb, a new Internet portal available in French and English, in Lebanon. The new service offers theme channels whose content is adapted to the requirements of local users, including a range of over 1,000 Web sites in Lebanon, a yellow pages service, etc. thanks to local partnership deals. The new portal is marketed under the Plugged brand name.
