Portugal has no plans to privatize CGD

Article Abstract:

The finance minister of Portugal, Antonio Sousa Franco, stated that his country has no plans to privatize Caixa Geral do Depositos SA (CGD). CGD is the largest financial group in Portugal. Mr. Franco said that CGD's public institution role makes financial market stability possible. The government of Portugal has asserted for quite some time that it plans to keep CGD under state control.

UBS shutters two funds, citing poor performance

UBS AG's funds division, UBS Global Asset Management, has closed two poorly performing equity funds in the UK, and has begun shifting the assets to funds producing stronger returns. The shift will take place over the next five months.
