Russian media see red when U.S. PR firm touts role in Orange Revolution

Article Abstract:

Rock Creek Creative, an American public relations firm issued a news release on its Web site touting the companies role in the Orange Revolution in the Ukraine that led to the election of Viktor Yushchenko. The news release caused an international incident when a Russian government news agency said that Rock Creek Creative's news release was proof the United States had interferred in the Ukrainian election.

U.S. offers to build new radar system for the Russians

Article Abstract:

Russia has not responded the United States' offer to help build a missile detection system in Siberia in exchange for modifications to the 1972 Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty. The US is prevented from creating a national missile defense system by the pact, so the US also offered to share early warning data with Russia.

Japanese firms review new risks to operations

Former US Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge urged Japanese businesses to restructure internal policies to improve competitiveness in the global economy. Ridge was speaking in Tokyo at the announcement of a joint venture involving public relations company Fleishman-Hillard and risk consultancy Kroll Inc.
