United StatesE investment bank Goldman SachsE received a Seoul district courtEs favorable judgment wherein the property of Jinro (South KoreaEs largest liquor producer) is placed under a receivership after it failed to make payments to Goldman SachsE after it rescheduled debt payments for five years with its creditors like Goldman SachsE, Morgan Stanley and Deutsche Bank. The repercussions of this judgment on foreign investment in South Korea have been described.

Bain's fault or bad luck that KB Toys failed?

Article Abstract:

Bain Capital Inc. took control of K-B Toys putting up an $18 million investment, the rest of the purchase was financed with debt and is now in litigation with the specialy store. Bain Capital Inc. collected $121 million in dividend in 16 months, while K-B Toys went further into debt and filed for bankruptcy protection in 2004.
