Ceska pojistovna (CP) (Czech Republic), insurance company, had a 57.1% share on the Czech life insurance market in 1997 compared to 64.2% in 1996. The insurance firm Nationale Nederlanden (Czech Republic/Netherlands) had a 18.7% share on the Czech life insurance market in 1997 compared to 16.7% in 1996. The insurance firm IPB pojistovna (Czech Republic) had a 11.8% share on the Czech life insurance market in 1997 compared to 10.4% in 1996. The insurance firm Amcico (Czech Republic/US) had a 2.9% share on the Czech life insurance market in 1997 compared to 2.6% in 1996. The insurance company Allianz (Czech Republic/Germany) had a 2.9% share on the Czech life insurance market in 1997 compared to 2.8% in 1996. The insurance firm Moravska Kooperativa (Czech Republic) had a 1.6% share on the Czech life insurance market in 1997 compared to 0.6% in 1996. The insurance company Generali (Czech Republic) had a 1.5% share on the Czech life insurance market in 1997 compared to 1.0% in 1996. Cars for ore, ore for credits

Article Abstract:

Alta (Brno, Czech Republic), trade company, should supply goods worth 49.5 mil USD to Belarus during 1999-2001. The contract regards the first stage of the modernisation of heavy lorry production worth 119 mil USD at the Belarussian Motor Plant (Belaz) (Belarus). The contract includes the supplies and installation of machine tools, adjusting devices, computer technology, welding equipment, equipment intended for the surface finish of metal materials and other machines and equipment. About 80% of the contract should be realised by the Czech firms Tos Hulin (Hulin, Czech Republic), Tos Varnsdorf (Varnsdorf, Czech Republic), ZPS (Zlin, Czech Republic) and Kovosvit (Sezimovo Usti, Czech Republic). About 85% of the contract should be financed by Ceska exportni banka (CEB) (Prague, Czech Republic). CEB's export credit for the project should be redeemed by 2005. Another credit worth 12 mil USD will be granted for the project by Interbanka (Prague, Czech Republic).

MDZ uses a hole on the market

Article Abstract:

Moravskoslezske drubezarske zavody (MDZ) PROMT (Czech Republic), poultry processor, launched new poultry products in 1998. The company completed the installation of a line at its plant in Haje-in-Silesia, the Czech Republic, in 1998. The line's installation was started in the Autumn of 1997. The investment costs on the project were 50 mil Kc. About 80% of the costs were covered from bank credits and 20% from the firm's own sources. The technology was supplied by Koppens (Netherlands). The line started to produce six kinds of chicken products and should produce 12 or more kinds of products including fish products gradually. The plant has 30 employees in two-shift operation at the line. The firm ensures sales through its own distribution network and the majority of wholesale chains. MDZ plans to export to Austria, Switzerland and CEFTA markets. The firm has supplied several samples to Poland and Slovakia.
