Shaw's $9M ad job to BFS

Shaw Communications Inc has chosen Bryant Fulton and Shee (BFS), an advertising firm based in Vancouver, BC, as its lead creative agency for 2000. Shaw, which is Canada's second largest cable provider and has extensive television, radio and Internet interests, has an estimated $9 million budget for advertising for the year. Its contract with BFS covers both creative and media and will run year over year for an indeterminate period.

Star Choice debuts national ad effort

Article Abstract:

Direct-to-home satellite service provider Star Choice Communications Inc has launched its first national ad campain in Apr 1999. The campaign, which focuses on the company as the highest-value provider within the category, aims to expand the current 200,000-subscriber base of the Star Choice. Leo Burnett of Toronto, Ontario, created the campaign in English, while Groupe Bachland developed the French version.

Videotron digital offers more choice

Article Abstract:

Cable television service provider Videotron Ltee has launched a C$2.5- million ad campaign that features its new digital service and a loyalty program. The company has added more than 20 new channels, including Women's Television Network and Playboy Channel, to increase the number of channels available to Quebec subscribers to around 100. The campaign was developed by PublicisBCP of Montreal, Quebec.
