The trade goes on

Article Abstract:

The change of government in Hong Kong in summer 1997 will not have a significant impact on the colony's trading activities, according to Michael Sze, executive director of Hong Kong's Trade Development Council. The main challenge which the organisation will face will be focusing on promoting services, which now account for 83% of Hong Kong's GDP. A key area of concern is the fact that young Hong Kong Chinese are not as fluent in English as their older counterparts.

Analyzing channel structures of business markets via the structure-output program

Article Abstract:

Distribution channel structures that provide marketing outputs to the end-consumer are analyzed through a Structure-Output framework. This technique purports that the demands of the end-user control the channel's organization. The new integrated model which considers both information service and logistics in the channel structure theory maintains that high-end user information needs produce an impact that is opposite that of high logistical service needs.
