Outdoor advertising has become an important medium for Canadian companies because of its simplicity and effectivess. It has become more important owing to the fragmentation of television and the high cost of magazine and newspaper advertising. However, sometimes outdoor advertising becomes a very unforgiving medium because, unlike television, radio or magazines, all the viewer has to do to avoid it is to glance away. For this reason, outdoor must be simple and focused to be an effective advertising medium.

Marketers of mutual funds should now go beyond brand awareness to creating brands that differentiate themselves from the competition. The most important challenge for mutual funds marketers is how to build stronger relationships with investors. The need for stronger relationships is underscored by the tide of net redemptions suffered by a number of well- known mutual funds over the past two years.
