Through a glass brightly

Article Abstract:

The formation of Sunderland Glassworks, in the North East of England was a direct response from local businesses and the community to ensure traditional glass making methods were kept alive and skills were passed on through to the next generation. Sunderland Glassworks was originally named Hartley Wood and it specialised in coloured and blown glass products, often used for stained glass windows. Modern marketing techniques were used to expand its market, gaining new clients overseas who specifically wanted glass made using traditional methods.

Gym'll fix it?

Article Abstract:

The predicted rise in revenues of the UK health and fitness industry from 1.15 billion pounds sterling in 1998 to 1.5 billion pounds sterling by 2004 will only happen if smaller health clubs can compete against the larger chains. Membership numbers of health clubs traditionally fall off after a certain amount of time as people visit less frequently and eventually cancel their subscription. Clubs need to be more family-friendly and offer clients a total lifestyle package which is affordable and realistic to obtain.
