U.S. firm's China-tire recall is smaller than anticipated

Article Abstract:

Foreign Tire Sales Inc. announced a recall of approximately 255,000 tires manufactured by China's Hangzhou Zhongce Rubber Company Ltd., a significantly smaller number than originally expected. Foreign Tire had estimated in June that around 450,000 of the Hangzhou-manufactured tires may be lacking a key safety feature.

Firestone Expands Tire Recall But Limits Length of Warranty

Article Abstract:

Nashville, Tenn.-based Bridgestone/Firestone Inc., which is engaged in a massive 6.5 million tire recall, will expand its new tire warranty. The expanded premium tire warranty will include more tires while reducing the coverage period from five to three years.
