United Tractor seeks deal

Article Abstract:

Analysts expect Komatsu-brand heavy equipment distributor United Tractors PT to reach a debt restructuring agreement with creditors by Oct 1999, that could position its shares for additional gains. Details of the deal are still being negotiated. The company's fortunes rely considerably on how aggressively it will have to sell its assets to comply with any repayment scheme signed. Some analysts believe that United Tractors' solid reputation and good credit standing could enable it to forge the kind of agreement that would enable it to retain its key cash making assets.

Bukit relinquished 160,161 square meters of property to the government as a condition for securing permits for a number of the firms housing projects. The loss is equivalent to 26% of the firm's land holdings.
