The Internet worldwide communications network is an invaluable medium for communications and information services. It provides up-to-date information on numerous subjects including news, finance and entertainment. The user can communicate with others using fast, inexpensive electronic messaging services. The personal computer user requires a modem to register with an Internet Service Provider (ISP). Browser software, available from the ISP, is used to interface with the internet. User advise is given.

Electronic mail is used by 15% of Americans today, compared to just 2% in 1992, according to a survey.E-mail offers straightforward communication and is a flexible way of sending notes, photographs, spreadsheets and other documents. E-mail is also fast, offering clear and concise communication and does not tie up a phone line, and a separate phone line is not required. In Asia there is a lack of Internet infrastructure, but e-mail is readily available in most areas.
