Online retailers of women's apparel have adopted an electronic commerce application called My Virtual Model to allow e-shoppers to try on clothes online. Developed by Montreal, Quebec-based Public Technologies MultiMedia Inc, My Virtual Model acts as customized avatars that reflect online creators' figure, hair and facial features. Through this application, e- tailers such as Les Boutiques San Francisco Inc, JC Penney Co Inc and Land's End Inc hope to increase on-line sales of apparel.

'Splendid herb' mate makes a splash with U.S. drinkers

Article Abstract:

Argentinian producers of a bitter herbal infusion derived from the mate plant are finding new niche markets in the US. The 'splendid herb,' which was cultivated by Jesuit missionaries in the 1600s is a stimulant like caffeine and can boost immunity and detoxify the blood. It has miraculous health benefits and can aid in weight loss, the restoration of youthful hair color and the reduction of the signs of aging.
