Local business is still a man's world: Few women serve as directors or top executives of area companies, a study shows

Article Abstract:

The study commissioned by the Forum of Executive Women of Fort Washington, Montgomery County revealed that one in four of Philadelphia's biggest 118 companies had no women in either their corporate boards or in their executive suites in 2003. Jane Scaccetti, the Forum member stated that women should be given place in the corporate board as they comprise half the population and have expertise in many fields.

Unions to target Comcast workers

Article Abstract:

Nonunion cable companies are set to compete against unionized telephone companies over the next significant field of telecommunications, Internet-based telephone service. The AFL-CIO would back a long-term strategic campaign with the Communication Workers of America and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers to expand union membership among Comcast workers across the US.

The requirements for a candidate opting for a career as a Gate Agent for Airline industry are discussed. The nature of services expected from them is explained with reference to describing the life and work of Mary Cramer Overa, 29, a gatekeeper for AirTran Airways at the Philadelphia International Airport.
