New Marsh CEO seeks to settle kickback case

Article Abstract:

Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc.'s new chief executive Michael Cherkasky created a compliance and pledged to return money to clients, as the world's largest insurance broker moved to settle claims of kickbacks and rigged bids. The steps by Cherkasky are designed to resolve allegations in a lawsuit by New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer, who refused to negotiate with Cherkasky's predecessor, Jeffrey Greenberg.

Ex-CEO of Enron accused of fraud

Article Abstract:

Jeffrey Skilling, the former chief executive officer of Enron Corp. was charged with nearly three-dozen counts of fraud, insider trading, and other crimes in relation to Enron's collapse. While Jeffrey Skilling was also accused of participating in schemes that mislead the government regulators and investors regarding the company's earnings, Jeffrey Skilling has pleaded not guilty to all the counts.

Boeing flies through unusual turbulence

Article Abstract:

Boeing Co. stock price is up 30 percent and its outlook is improved and so has morale at its signature commercial aircraft unit despite the protracted aviation slowdown since 2001. The company agreed to pay between $40 million to settle a sex-discrimination suit brought in 2000 by female employees and former employees.
