Enterprise-wide needs

Article Abstract:

Business enterprises that are looking forward to improving their operations must underscore the adoption of enterprise-wide risk assessment strategies. Extra attention must be focused on time and resource management, since these elements are most often the precursors of risks. To address these problems efficiently, companies are encouraged to outsource risk-assessment functions to insurance providers. Doing so would not only alleviate financial uncertainties, but help top management officials concentrate on core business activities, as well.

Sexual harassment rulings draw new lines

Article Abstract:

Managers should be aware of the new rulings on sexual harassment which make the company liable for transgressions of their supervisors and enable employees to file for damages without having to prove a job disadvantage. Insurance analysts expect the new rulings to result in increased lawsuits and more costly claims. Risk managers should implement methods by which employees can voice any complaints, such as toll-free telephone numbers, in addition to concrete definitions of sexual harassment.

What's a risk manager?

Article Abstract:

The risk management profession is often misunderstood because methods of financing risks are not yet fully developed despite the existence of technology and some people think that many risk managers are not academically excellent. However, it should be recognized that there are risk managers who have written excellent articles about enterprise-wide risk identification, chaos theory, risk identification and analysis and risk mapping.
