This is true for a range of markets, such as the petroleum industry, which is undergoing consolidation.

Dealing in stocks from mainland Europe has also become simpler. US investors have become increasingly interested in European stocks. There is particular interest in the Spanish and French markets since there is a move away from control by the state in those countries. There has also been consolidation in financial services and defense, and investing in mainland Europe is one way of benefiting from these developments.
