Going global

Article Abstract:

Canada is seen to play an important role in the development of international accounting standards as it is influential in the International Accounting Standards Committee (IASC) and the G4+1, both of which are pushing for internationalization. IASC leads all groups in the standard-setting move and the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) is already reviewing its completed work covering financial reporting. Meanwhile, G4+1 is also dealing with the reconsideration of accounting standards covering leases.

As a result, the company has become funding experts and many customers seek their service in facilitating the lending procedure. Aside from managing funding assignments, the company also handles merger, acquisition and divestiture undertakings, business appraisals and corporate restructuring.

An audit team leader of Canadian National Railway Co. Ltd. reveals the auditing reforms introduced in her company. The new audit approach designed to enhance customer satisfaction, encourages clients to discuss their problems with auditors. This called for the downsizing of the internal audit structure and the introduction of new methods and services by auditors to meet present expectations and demands.
