Macworld expo: color, color everywhere

Article Abstract:

Macworld Exposition held in San Francisco exhibited different brands of color printers, color monitors and color software with quality colors. These include Apple Computer Inc Laser Writer Pro 600 and 630 printers, Style Writer II printer and Lexmark International Inc two Macintosh Business Systems Inc compatible printers. Two publications which were promoted at the exposition are the Desktop Video World from IDG Communications and Mac Home Journal subtitled "For Work, Play & Education."

Research controversy grows

Article Abstract:

Independent research studies in computer publishing are key determinants in the extent of share that computer publications will capture from the $1.9 billion advertising expenditures from hardware and software makers. Ziff-Davis Publishing Co released a 'white paper' on three studies which evaluated who is reading which computer magazine. Ziff commended Intelliquest's MediaTrack Influencer but criticized the Simmons Market Research Bureau's study of computer professionals.

Hypermedia readies $6 million stock issue

Article Abstract:

The parent company of NewMedia magazine, the largest magazine in the multimedia computing field, plans to sell 46% of its stock to the public. The public offering of San Mateo, CA-based Hypermedia Communications Inc is expected to rake in $6 million. NewMedia is a monthly magazine that covers multimedia computing. It combines text, sound, video and still photographs in computer screens and lets viewers control the content and sequence of the presentation.
