Selecting Telemarketing Technology in a Deregulated Environment

Article Abstract:

An understanding of deregulation is critical for selecting the right telemarketing equipment. Deregulation opens up new potential in new markets. PABX is an example of this with its most economical route selection capability. Special common carriers allow access of up to three of these low-cost carriers by dialing as few as five digits. Another enhancement is the recorder announcer diverter which handles calls when lines are full. The integrated voice-data communications terminals give access to a computer's data base.

Automatic Call Distributors in a Telemarketing Environment

Article Abstract:

Computerized automatic call distributors (ACDs) allow an orderly answering of calls based on the number of available personnel. ACDs also create management reports on personnel performance and system utilization. The airlines were the first ones to utilize these ACDs. Handling time can be reduced five to fifteen seconds. The systems have a wide range of call-handling options and administrative reporting capabilities.
