Technicians' focus turns to customer consulting

Article Abstract:

Johnson Controls Inc. retrained its employees to meet its customers' growing demand for more personalized services. Despite the firm's excellent technical services, customers wanted more services in areas such as needs assessment, problem solving and budgeting. Service technicians had to do more than repair equipment by serving as customer consultants. A series of workshops geared towards establishing customer consultative conversation, defusing conflict and offering more products and services, were conducted.

EU legislation boost for UK company

Article Abstract:

CRC should see a growth in demand as a result of European Union (EU) legislation. This legislation means that warranties will have to be supplied to cover two years instead of one year, and to be valid in the EU as a whole. Some companies will outsource repairs to CRC and other repair companies. Nokia is among CRC's clients. CRC could expand through acquisitions, and the company may also attract a takeover bid due to its potential.
