Why we can hold our heads high again

Article Abstract:

The 17th World Congress of Accountants, organized by the Turkish accountancy profession and the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) from November 13 to 16, 2006, was attended by more than 5,000 people. Political leaders, regulators and leaders of the profession from both practice and industry discussed how accountancy adds value to the world, from driving business growth to creating fair markets, and from accounting, auditing and ethical principles to the fight against poverty.

Article Abstract:

Scotland economy is not as diverse as the rest of UK considering the manufacturing sector, thus undermining the nation's growth potential. In order to emerge as a vibrant light of the North, the nation should strip out the layers of atrophied civic bureaucracy and offer greater incentive for a diversified economy to grow.

Markets after the election

Article Abstract:

The reaction of investment professionals towards the outcome of the United Kingdom (UK) elections in 2005 is discussed. In case of a Labor defeat, the change of direction for the economy and the private sector will benefit investors in the medium term.
