Resume talk from recruiters

Article Abstract:

Career service professionals must educate students on resume writing on the advances in technology as well as writing for optical character recognition scanners. Resumes are only one way of getting an applicant to set foot in an employer's door. Most of the information concerning the applicant is gathered during the interview. Resume problems such as lack of white space on a page, grammatical and spelling errors can disqualify the best candidate. A good resume must have brevity, organized information and must indicate the applicant's transferable skills.

Resumes and data bases make matches

Article Abstract:

An increasing number of companies are using automated resume processing and applicant tracking systems. Applicants who format their resumes in conformity with this technology have the chance of having their resumes included in the data base. An optical character recognition scans the resumes which converts images into text. The information is stored in a database until it is purged by the company.
