Sigma Chi Iota means minority career development at Florida State

Article Abstract:

Florida State University's (FSU) Sigma Chi Iota is a career development honorary association that promotes the educational and career development of FSU students, especially minorities. Although the organization focuses on African-American students, it serves all students who seek its help. The association conducts several activities designed to involve minority students in career development services and programs. It also publishes an annually updated minority student resume book sold to organizations. Sigma Chi Iota received two awards in 1991 for its outstanding contributions to minority career and professional improvement.

Personality typing: a first step to a satisfying career

Article Abstract:

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), a type model that identifies 16 different personality types, is often used by career counselors to help individuals find the job they are best suitedto. By matching type characteristics with specific job characteristics, a perfect job match can be found. Personality type is classified according four dimensions, extroversion vs introversion, sensing vs intuition, thinking vs feeling and judging vs perceiving. Factors such as temperament and personality type development must also be considered. Descriptions of the four dimensions and how the model is used are included.
