BULGARIA: AGROPOLYCHIM BOUGHT BY NORSK HYDRO

Article Abstract:

Norsk Hydro Central Europe has taken a 60% stake in the big Bulgarian fertiliser manufacturer Agropolychim for a symbolic US$ 1. The Bulgarian state retained a 25% stake. The Norwegian company is taking over Agropolychim's debts of US$ 40mn and promised to make investments of US$ 34mn in the company in the next five years to modernise the plant and cut environmental impacts. The Bulgarian government has reduced the asking price for the country's biggest fertiliser producer Chimco from US$ 100mn to US$ 36.1mn. Two Spanish companies are said to be interested in another fertiliser company, Agrobiochim.

US: DIAL/HENKEL BUYS CREATIVE'S HOME CLEANER KIT

Article Abstract:

Creative Products Resource Inc. of Fairfield, New Jersey, has sold its Custom Cleaner Home Dry Cleaning Kit to Dial/Henkel LLC. The kit was developed for the dry cleaning of garments in domestic tumble dryers. It is to be launched nationally in autumn 1999 after having been sold on regional markets since 1996.
