Article Abstract:

Laser ablation of Trp-Gly was investigated under the same experimental conditions formerly employed to successfully seed the fragile, nonvolatile dipeptide into a molecular beam. Results showed substantial fragmentation upon ablation. Helium entrainment may be needed to prevent decomposition. The measured angular distributions were extremely forward-peaked and bimodal. The velocity distributions were wider than a Boltzmann distribution and had no flow velocity.
