Low-temperature single-molecule spectroscopy of MEH-PPV conjugated polymer molecules

Article Abstract:

The spectroscopic properties and conformational structure of conjugated polymer, MEH-PPV (poly[2-methoxy-5-(2'-ethyl-hexyloxy)-1,4-phenylene vinylene]), an important electroluminescent material, is studied at low temperature. Single molecule spectroscopy (SMS) revealed relatively narrow bandwidth fluorescence spectra at low temperature, and rich spectral information in energy relaxation pathways and structure.

Well-packed chains and aggregates in the emission mechanism of conjugated polymers

Article Abstract:

Dialkoxy-substituted poly[phenylene vinylene]s consisting of two repeating units with different side-chain lengths are synthesized, that serve as a model system to clarify roles of aggregates and the independent chain segments in well packed chains in the emission mechanism of conjugated polymers. The study conducted reveals that the well-packed chains do not form aggregates.

Investigating side chain mediated electroluminescence from carbazole-modified polyfluorene

Article Abstract:

Time-resolved electroluminescence (EL) is used for studying the emission mechanism of the devices based on a carbazole-capped dialkyl side chain-modified polyflorene. The results have shown that integrated consideration for both intramolecular and intermolecular interactions have provided a new way for molecular design of efficient EL polymers.
