High resolution X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy of chlorine-terminated GaAs(111)A surfaces

Article Abstract:

Oxide-terminated and Cl-terminated GaAs(111)A surfaces are characterized in the As and Ga 3d regions by high-resolution, soft X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The result has confirmed that wet chemical etching allows for the formation of well-defined, Cl-terminated GaAs(111)A surfaces free of detectable elemental As, which has provided a starting point for further functionalization of GaAs.

TAT peptide immobilization on gold surfaces: A comparison study with a thiolated peptide and alkylthiols using AFM, XPS, and FT-IRRAS

Article Abstract:

A gold surface is functionalized by three different methods, adsorption from solution, microcontact printing, and dip-pen nanolithiography using a TAT peptide. It is concluded that the structure of the alkyl chains of the TAT peptides is fairly disordered and different after each procedure.

Covalent attachment of TAT and thiolated alkyl molecules on GaAs surfaces

Article Abstract:

Four TAT peptide fragments are used to functionalize GaAs surfaces by adsorption from solution. Two well-studied alkylthiols, mercaptohexdeconoic acid (MHA) and 1-octadecanethiol (ODT) are utilized as references to understand the structure of the TAT peptide monolayer on GaAs.
