Monte Carlo simulation of electron thermalization distribution in liquid hydrocarbons: effects of inverse collisions and of an external electric field

Article Abstract:

A Monte Carlo simulation has been developed for electron thermalization in a liquid hydrocarbon taking n-hexane as a paradigm, both effect of the geminate cation and that of an external electric field have been included in the predicted electron thermalization distance distribution (ETDD). The distortion of the thermalization distance distribution by an external filed affects the free-ion yield in the second-order O(E2), which can be seen at very high fields.

Shape and dimensions of gel-domains in phospholipid bilayers: a theoretical study

Article Abstract:

It is observed that in the gel-fluid phase coexisting region of bilayers made of two mixed phospholipids, one of the phases is microdispersed in the other. The study develops a model for phase separated fluid bilayers based on the same reasoning of Keller et al. for the case of monolayers, but adding the interactions between the two opposed rigid domains present in a bilayer.

Kinetics of two-dimensional diffusion-controlled reactions: a Monte Carlo simulation of hard-disk reactants undergoing a Pearson-type random walk

Article Abstract:

Research into the dynamics (random walk and binary collisions) of diffusion-controlled interaction between circular rigid particles is presented. This work confirms earlier deductions about the limits of validity of the hydrodynamic theory.
