Nonionic surfactant Brij 35 in water and in various simple alcohols: structural investigations by small-angle X-ray scattering and dynamic light scattering

Article Abstract:

The structural properties of nonionic surfactant dodecyl-poly(ethylene oxide-23) ether (C12E23, commercial name Brij 35) in water and in various alcohol's from ethanol to 1-decanol are studied with the help of small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) and dynamic light scattering (DLS) techniques. The results and some remarks concerning the shortcomings of the SAXS method are summarized.

Phase behavior and self-organized structures in water/poly(oxyethylene) cholesteryl ether systems

Article Abstract:

The phase behavior and micellar structures in the water/poly (oxyethylene) cholesteryl ether binary systems are investigated and detailed. In water/ChEO15 system, with increasing water content, the packing parameter and axial ratio of an aggregate in the R1 region are smoothly decreased and finally converges to 1/2 and 1, the characteristics of H1 phase.
