Preferential destruction of metallic single-walled carbon nanotubes by laser irradiation

Article Abstract:

Metallic single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) in carbon nanotubes thin film can be destroyed in preference to their semiconducting counterparts when the wavelength and power intensity of the irradiation are appropriate and the carbon nanotubes are not heavily bundled, upon laser irridation in air. This method creates the possibility of defining the semiconducting portions of carbon nanotube (CNT) networks using optical lithography, particularly when constructing all-CNT.

Self-organization of carbon nanotubes in evaporating droplets

Article Abstract:

A simple and efficient way for organizing carbon nanotubes, especially single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) into ordered structures from their dilute solutions, is reported. The results have helped in understanding fluid dynamics during the drying process and have also provided a promising and simple strategy for either assembling carbon nanotubes on a surface or organizing them into a well-aligned films and fibers.

Growth kinetics of one-dimensional KNbO3 nanostructures by hydrothermal processing routes

Article Abstract:

The growth kinetics of one-dimensional single-crystalline KNbO3 nanostructures prepared by hydrothermal processing routes is studied. A model taking into account the cube-base morphology of the nanostructures, their defects as the KOH proportion in the starting solution increases, and the partial depletion of species in the solution at the kink regions is proposed.
