Rate constants and free-energy plot for the reduction of horse-heart cytochrome c(III) by eight organic radicals

Article Abstract:

Pulse radiolysis and stopped-flow methods were used to measure the rate constants and free-energy plot for the reduction of the oxidized form of horse-heart cytochrome c by eight organic radicals (OR). Results suggested that all eight ORs have a similar self-exchange rate constant. The Marcus free-energy plot obtained implies that the mechanism of the electron transfer occurs in the outer sphere and that the ORs react at the same site on the cytochrome c surface for which an alternative self-exchange applies.

In situ optical second harmonic rotational anisotropy measurements of an Au(111) electrode during electrochemical deposition of tellurium

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to analyze the electrodeposition of tellurium on a single-crystalline Au(111) electrode using 1064-nm-excited second harmonic measurements. The electrolyte solution was determined using purified water. A single-crystal disk was then utilized as an electrode. Experimental results indicated that the second harmonic rotational anisotropy changed with the first underpotential deposition of tellurium.

NMR determination of the magnetic susceptibility anisotropy of cytochrome c' of Rhodobacter capsulatus by 1Jhn dipolar coupling constants measurement: characterization of its monomeric state in solution

Article Abstract:

Measurements of 1Jnh splittings at 600 MHz and 400 MHz on the paramagnetic and on the diamagnetic state of cytochrome c' of Rhodobacter capsulatus are presented. Dipolar splitting measurements can be a viable approach to the study of the oligomerization state of proteins.
