Second-order nonlinear performance of poly(methyl methacrylate) films with dispersed donor-acceptor organobimetallic compounds

Article Abstract:

Research was conducted to examine the second-order nonlinear performance of poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) films with dispersed donor-acceptor organobimetallic compounds. Guest-host PMMA films were prepared by spin-coating to evaluate the second-harmonic generation capabilities of the new organobimetallic compounds. Corona poling was employed to obtain noncentrosymmetric molecular ordering. Results indicate that thin films may provide suitable materials for implementation in useful integrated optics devices and waveguide.

Third-order nonlinear optical properties of donor-acceptor organometallic compounds in films and solution

Article Abstract:

Results demonstrate that nonlinear optical measurements of organometllic compounds exhibit real cubic hyperpolarizability. Data also show that third harmonic generation responses can be inferred from hyperpolarizability and susceptibility data measured in solutions and films respectively.
