Thermal/photo conversion of silver 4-nitrobenzoate to nitro-amine-terminated silver nanoparticles

Article Abstract:

The thermal and photochemical characteristics of silver 4-nitrobenzoate (Ag-4NBA) was investigated using various analytical tools, such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform electron spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, scanning electron microscopy, and transmission electron microscopy. Because the organic moieties anchored on the Ag nanoparticles can be completely removed by heating to 750 K or higher, optically tunable, surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS)-active Ag films can be reproducibly fabricated on glass microscope slides.

Raman scattering of 4-aminobenzenethiol sandwiched between Ag/Au nanoparticle and macroscopically smooth Au substrate

Article Abstract:

Raman scattering measurements are conducted for a 4-aminobenzenethiol (4-ABT) monolayer that is sandwiched between macroscopically smooth Au substrate and 55 nm sized Ag or Au nanoparticles. The main aim of determining the optical responses is to confirm whether surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) activity is derived from the nanoparticle-to-metal substrate interaction and to estimate the enhancement factor (EF) values associated with the attachment of Ag or Au nanoparticles.

Effect of Ag and Au nanoparticles on the SERS of 4-aminobenzenethiol assembled on powder copper

Article Abstract:

Raman scattering measurements are conducted for 4-aminobenzenethiol (4-ABT) assembled on powdered coppers substrates. The Raman spectra observed for be surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) spectra, occurring by an electromagnetic coupling of the localized surface-plasmon of Ag nanoparticles with the surface plasmon polariton of Cu powders.
