Actual Conditions and Points of Data Input Keyboard Systems

Article Abstract:

Office automation has increased the role of the keyboard for inputing data into the system. The keyboard is classified according to ergonomics models which are designed for desk-top personal computers, hand-held portable keyboards that are designed with an A-4 compact size and pocket computer types that feature a slim design for use with desk calculators. The switches used with the keyboards are selected according to life, reliability, price and purpose of use. These include mechanical, capacitive, membrane, and conductive rubber switches. There are charts to illustrate the different keyboards and features.

Text-input system features one-hand keyboard

Article Abstract:

Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd. and Shinano Fujitsu Co. Ltd. produced a text-input system targeted to be incorporated with portable data processing equipment. The system originated from the companies' development of a single-hand keyboard, resulting in a system that can achieve text input speed comparable to the speed of personal computers with word processing functions. With 18 keys, the single-hand input system includes the compression character set and dictionary-referenced conversion for assigning two characters for every key and a shiftless system.

Future Curved Keyboard Reduces Operator's Fatigue

Article Abstract:

The curved keyboard has been designed for use with computer terminals. This keyboard provides slim shaped keys that secure a keystroke of four or five mm to enhance input efficiency. An angle adjustment enables the keyboard to be tilted in accordance with different operators' forms. The keyboard is based upon the contactless capacitor system that offers outperformed durability. The curved keyboard provides fast, accurate and easy input of data. Diagrams illustrate the features of the curved keyboard.
