Article Abstract:

Though the growth of the video disc industry has been slow it has been steady. Today's video disc players do not have time shifting and home taping features. More and more software titles are now available for video discs and the prices are dropping. Video disc purchasers seem more sophisticated and interested in technology. Most purchasers already own a VCR.

Newmark & Lewis Play the Coliseum

Article Abstract:

Newmark and Lewis, an electronic-appliance chain held a four day trade show in the Nassau Coliseum in late August 1984. Over one hundred thousand attended the Audio-Video Consumer Electronics & Appliance Show and Sale. Seventy manufacturers displayed exhibits. It was said to be successful beyond expectations. Photographs show some displays and attendees.

TV Sales Volume Soars as Margins Dive Downward

Article Abstract:

Competition is creating lower prices for basic televisions. The 13 and 19 inch TVs are the most popular. Higher volume is necessary to get the same profit as before. Added features will increase profits greatly. In March the FCC approved stereo Broadcasts on TV. It will change TV programming. Photographs of different televisions are included.
