The business system market is experiencing a growth period in Japan. This market has reported 914.4 billion yen for 1983. The plain paper copier (PPC) represents an estimated fifty percent of high performance business machines. Electronic cash registers (ECR) and point of sale (POS) systems are experiencing a growth period as a result of upgraded products that incorporate various business functions. Desktop computer systems continue to be a major export product for Japan although it indicates a lower value basis for manufacturers. There are charts to indicate market trends.

Its use of the BASIC programming language has enabled the user to use personal computers for graphic applications. The improved functions offered by the 16-bit PC enables a link-up with CAD-CAM systems for daily business operations. Those PCs that provide a high degree of freedom and flexibility in adapting to expansion and changes will continue to be used in computer graphics by the CAD-CAM systems.
