PC-Based CAD System

Article Abstract:

Siemens has developed the Sicograph 1 CAD computer-aided design system for use on its Sicograph 1 personal computer. The system consists of the personal computer (PC), CP-M 86 and GSX 86 operating systems, and 2D CAD graphics software. With an 8088 16-bit processor and 8087 numeric processor, it has 1Mbyte memory, a 720Kbyte floppy, and a 10Mbyte Winchester. It has eight colors on a fourteen-inch monitor. A photograph of the system is shown.
