Road Runner stays fleet of foot with Stream outsourcing deal

Article Abstract:

High-speed Internet service provider Road Runner has signed Stream International Inc to a three-year deal to provide expanded Web-based support options to its subscribers. Road Runner will transfer the 200,000-plus subscriber base from five separate call centers to Stream's call centers in Memphis, TN, and Dallas, TX. Stream, will provide the subscribers with technical support and knowledge management services through voice-based and electronic delivery systems.

Easing ERP through services

ERP vendors are offering a variety of services to fit the needs and information technology budget of companies the belong to the mid-sized market. Some ERP vendors are offering fixed-price services to allow mid- sized companies to minimize their risks. Among these are Avenet Computers' ERPro software and network support suite of services and Plaut Computing's pre-configured ERP software bundled with fixed-price consulting services.

Ericsson moves in parallel

Article Abstract:

Telecommunications equipment supplier Ericsson has installed Boole and Babbage Inc's MainView product at its information technology services hub in Stockholm, Sweden. MainView now monitors Ericsson's S/390 Parallel Sysplex computing and distributes workloads acorss its IMS, CICS and DB2 application subsystems. Mainview uses 10%-15% CPU power than the products Ericsson had previously used.
