The Success of Scanning

Article Abstract:

According to government figures, data entry represents between thirty and fifty percent of a company's information processing budget. Optical character readers (OCRs) are being used by many companies to replace keyboard data entry. This review of OCRs in the office cites three case studies from the law firm of Arnstein, Gluck, Lehr, Barron & Milligan; Home Box Office; and Golden Rule Insurance Co. OCRs may help reduce manpower costs, improve document turnaroud, improve accuracy, and improve the efficiency of word processing resources.
