Windows CE forms platform for Microsoft-Hitachi deal

Article Abstract:

Microsoft Corp. and Hitachi Ltd. will work on the Windows CE operating system. Under the deal, Hitachi will form a development organization that is tasked to come out with products operating under the Windows CE platform for its clients. Microsoft will offer the organization broad access to Windows CE technology. Both firms are looking forward to develop innovative handheld computers particularly with the potentials of Hitachi's 32-bit SuperH RISC microprocessor series. Hitachi will employ its Dependable Autonomous Hard Real-Time Management technology in incorporating real-time capabilities in the Windows CE system.

Metrix looks to boost mindshare with new round of venture capital

Article Abstract:

Metrix Inc has secured $6 million in fresh capital from venture capital firm P3 Technology Partners of Netherlands. P3 Technology infused the bulk of capital cash in an agreement signed in late Feb 1999. Summit Partners, which invested in the company in 1996, provided the remainder. Metrix said that it will use the funds to step up the sales and marketing efforts for its enterprise service automation solutions.
