A stitch in time saves cash

Article Abstract:

Architects must be given sufficient time to make accurate specifications on their designs. Developers often try to rush the architects to produce tender documents which may turn out to be inaccurate and costly to resolve. Many building materials are fabricated in the factories and taken to the site to be assembled rather than made therefore they are difficult to change if the specifications are incorrect. Contractors or manufacturers work with building designers to compete a design with a view of the performance specification of materials.

Look and learn

Article Abstract:

One of the most important benefits to come from the challenging work undertaken by the builders and designers of the Millennium Dome at Greenwich and the Hong Kong Shanghai Bank in Hong Kong is a new understanding of how the construction industry should work together to create a flexible yet productive project team. Open communication lines and a positive approach to the management of personnel creates an atmosphere which is more conducive to work than one where parties are constantly working against each other.
