Blue Cross takes on prescription marketers, launches RxIntelligence to evaluate drugs

Article Abstract:

Chicago, IL-based Blue Cross and Blue Shield Assn is launching a not-for- profit independent firm, RxIntelligence, to provide assistance to doctors, patients and corporate human resource managers. The creation of the company is aimed at providing unbiased information about the cost and effectiveness of leading prescription drugs in the marketplace. It is in direct response to the marked increase in direct-to-consumer advertising by the pharmaceutical industry which has resulted in escalating drug costs.

Snyder Communications launches Brann Worldwide

Article Abstract:

Snyder Commuications Inc of Bethesda, MD, has combined its five direct marketing services group organizations into a single new entity called Brann Worldwide. The five groups were Brann Ltd, Blau Marketing Technologies, Response Marketing Group, Snyder Direct Services and National Retail Services. Chris Garter was named president and CEO of the new direct marketing agency.

Dell hopes consumers find flavor with new Webpc

Dell Computer Corp of Round Rock, TX, has introduced its new sleek personal computing device called the Webpc. The pricing for the innovative PCs, which come in a variety of colors, start at $999 for a 433 MHz Celeron processor with 64 MB of random access memory, a 15" monitor and a one-year subscription to Dell's proprietary Internet service. Dell has launched a massive multimedia campaign in 11 major metropolitan markets to tout the Webpc.
