DM agency looks to create some electricity

Fala Direct Marketing of Farmingdale, NY, has announced that it expects to run 20% of its operations on solar power by fall 2001. The project is supported by the Long Island Power Authority, which willfinance half od the $9 million project through a one-time $4.5-million research grant. The direct marketing company explained that it decided to shift to the use of solar power becasue this will cut the company's annual energy costs by 20%.

Cataloger, retailer get help targeting prospective customers

Article Abstract:

Huntington Clothier, a Columbus, OH-based cataloger, and The Custom Shop, a New York-based retailer, have turned to database development provider Dynamic Marketing Services to help them create a profile of their respective customer files. Dynamic Marketing Services is the Houston, TX, office of KnowledgeBase Marketing, which has done data processing and management jobs for HC Holdings, the firm that acquired the cataloger and retailer. Customer profiling reportedly allows a company to maintain a better relationship with its clients as well as enable them to track and measure customer responses and return of investment.

ALC, ALC of New York expand interactive services

American List Counsel Inc, based in Princeton, NJ, and ALC of New York LLC intends to expand their Internet marketing iniatiatives. As part of the plan, ALC injected $15 million to expand ALC Interactive to a new business, called Impower Inc. Impower involves tool to foster more productive Web advertising for its clients that include American Express, Bell Atlantic, BMG Music, Time Warner, Rodale Press and Ziff Davis.
